I got some new notecards printed up this month to further my quest for tangible correspondence. So pumped! Also, psyched to use my updated long-hair logo! Letterpress printed by the always fantastic Cranky Pressman.

  3. Letterpress alphabet prints now available!

Now available in the store, individual letterpress prints of a full alphabet, selected from the first 6 alphabets of Daily Drop Cap. Buy individual letters for a mere $40 each or as a full set! An ampersand is also available (see pic below), combine with two letters for an excellent wedding or anniversary gift! I printed these at The Arm in Williamsburg Brooklyn, if you haven’t ever checked them out, do immediately. Dan (the owner) is completely awesome and conducts workshops for those that want to learn letterpress!

Special collectors’ sets available of matched low-numbered “perfect prints” (all prints of course had to be excellent to make the edition cut at all, but these are for the real nitpickers and the people that care about having matching numbers). Each of these sets includes all 26 letters with the same matching edition number, an ampersand print, and also I will send you a cake (really, just specify which kind you’d like in the “instructions to merchant” when checking out). Special thanks to Frank Chimero for the brilliant Jessica Sends the Internet Cake idea.

  4. New Daily Drop Cap Business Cards

    P1020518-small
Just got these in the mail yesterday! So pumped! While I haven’t yet run out of my personal business cards, I thought it would be a fun idea to make Daily Drop Cap cards, since for the most part that’s what everyone knows me from. I designed them so they could be used as the project continues and after it is complete (can’t wait until I can start checking off the “complete” box). If you want to zoom in, you can see a much larger image here. These were printed by Cranky Pressman, and they did a truly excellent job! Some specs: Two color front (black and pms warm red) / blank back; Printed on Crane’s Lettra 220lb Paper with edge painting. The registration is absolutely spot on and I couldn’t be happier with the end result. Everyone hire Keith to print your stuff! He is old school and uses metal plates for everything (I usually print with polymer), which rules. Because I ordered 1000 of these and will no way be able to hand that many out in person in the near future I’ll be tossing one in the next hundred or so orders I get from my store. Huzzah!

  5. Limited Edition Letterpress Drop Cap Prints for Sale!

If you that love the Daily Drop Cap and also love letterpress, these are a must have. I hand printed these two color letterpress posters at The Arm in Williamsburg and it was The Most Painstaking Registration Process Ever. I actually ended up destroying my plates while trying to make it perfect, which means that this small first edition of 75 will also be the last edition. The prints are available trimmed or untrimmed from my store (I recommend trimmed for mount framing and untrimmed for matte framing). They are printed on Crane’s 110lb Lettra and each is signed and numbered with the note “First and only edition”.

  6. Want me to do your wedding invites?

i-blog2’ve made it kind of my personal credo not to design and print wedding invitations except for people I am blood related to or are near relatives to in friendship status. BUT(!), I have designed some letterpress invitations for the wonderful website Bella Figura, which is owned by the same folks that run Boxcar Press, my go-to place for letterpress plates. They were awesome to work with, and guided me through the 50 step process of designing a wedding invite suite with ease. I designed two versions for them “Weber” and “Hendrix” (which comes in a two color option and a three color option for those feeling slightly more spendy). “Hendrix” was based on my friend John Hendrix’s daughter’s baby announcement, which you may have seen on my site. This version uses my font Buttermilk instead of hand-lettering for the names.

I apologize for my lack of whimsical names for the designs, I just used the last names of my made up brides and grooms (the names of course were smashups of people I know, aside from baby Anneli Hendrix, who now has a fully designed wedding invitation suite for her future wedding). Also, the photos on the site are a little weird (I picked the least curiously art directed of the bunch to post on here), but I’m hopefully getting some samples from them and I will shoot some less contrasty ones that aren’t on top of a bed of crumpled newspaper.
There are a ton of other beautiful invites on the site by other designers if mine don’t suit your fancy, so definitely poke around (but ultimately go with mine). ha!
